Shed door opens, then closed. First with a metallic click to unlock and followed by a long opening creaking door. Once opened there is a plastic rustle and the door closes with an even longer spooky creaking noise. Followed by a clunk when shut and a metallic click to lock the shed door. Silence back and front.

The old flour mill at woodbridge in suffolk, england is powered by water from a tidal pond, which refills at every high tide. It is one of only two in the country. The sound is of the vertical wooden main drive shaft creaking in its bearings, with the mill-wheel rumbling in the background. Recorded with my sony pcm-m10.

Needed a two door knock for a project, so i knocked twice on a wooden desk.

Creak, swing, crathud. Repeat.

A short clip of a wooden door opening, first a high pitch creak, then a low pitch as it's movement slows. Recorded at close proximity with a sennheiser 416 microphone, to a sound devices 552, in a residential, fully attached house, with minimal noise and background but natural ambience and reflection, from a large (bed)room.

I set a hammer down on a variety of wooden surfaces, so that it could masquerade as someone setting down a big old fire axe in an audiodrama. (it does work to lower the pitch if you're looking for a bigger sound. ) mono recording, zoom h4 internal mic.

This is a sound of things being knocked down onto a wooden floor. I used it in a remake of an old radio play, when someone bursts into the detective's office. :). Here's my first field recording and first upload on here. I recorded my friend's fireplace in his apartment for a theater production through my college for which i was the sound designer and sound board operator. I used a zoom q3hd with its built-in stereo xy microphones at about a foot or so away from the fire (on the bricks directly encasing the fireplace) with some make-shift baffling around the fireplace (safe, i know). This track is an edited version, a sort of "best of".

This sound is part of a series and was originally a recorded finger snap. Recording gear:- 2 x behringer c2 small diaphragm condenser microphones with cardioid polar pattern- focusrite scarlett 2i4 audio interfacesoftware:- sound forge pro.
